Inside the library: We now have a computer and monitor that can take any size text and enlarge it for reading. Thanks to the Passmore family for their donation. We have a fax, scanner, and copier for you to use. Our music CD collection continues to grow a little each month. We are grateful for any suggestions you may have as well. We receive new DVDs each month from the library service center. The Friends of the Library are in the process of buying the top 100 classic movies of all time. Look for the for book buying suggestion box on the circulation desk. We do a book order every month and would be happy for your input. Our mantles change with different books on display each month that highlight holidays and special interests.
Fundraisers: Do you have any great ideas for the library to make some money? We have handmade bibs for sale for $3.00 each in pink or blue. It makes a perfect addition to any baby shower gift. We’ll have our annual quilt raffle this year again. This year’s quilt was generously made again by Jacqueline Collins. It is a gorgeous spring flower design and will be drawn April 7th. The quilt would make a beautiful Easter or Mother’s Day present for the special woman in your life! We invite everyone to pay their annual dues of $5 a family again this year. One of the perks include 10 free copies each time you visit the library.
Events: Story times are Tuesdays at 2PM. Children of all ages are welcome to attend.
Book Group meets the 4th Thursday at 5 PM of every month. Refreshments are served. Michener, May 28 – Ben Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson and June 25 – Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell
Are you interested in becoming more involved in the community? Come to the library’s Annual Meeting at 7PM on February 26th. All are invited to attend. Find out how you can become a “Friend” of the library or serve on the nominating committee for the Board of Trustees.
An evening of music will be on Thursday, March 12th at 6:30 PM. It’s a St. Patty’s Day concert the whole family will love!
Donations Needed: As our budget gets tighter this year we welcome your donations of magazines. If you already get a magazine sent to your home, why not donate it to the library each month after you read it for others to enjoy? We are always looking for used book donations for our semi-annual book sale in May.
